A suspect was apprehended following a citizen's alert to the National Police (PN) regarding a suspicious individual, allegedly armed, in the sectors 2-2 and 2-3 of the Puerto Escondido community, in the Cristóbal district of Colón. Police officers went to the scene and observed the citizen, who fled upon seeing them. During his escape, he dropped a black bag containing a firearm, ammunition, and cartridges filled with a white powder presumed to be drugs, as well as a wrapper with dried herbs. The suspect, a 22-year-old man, was eventually captured. He and the evidence have been handed over to the Public Prosecutor's office to initiate an investigation and hold him responsible for his criminal conduct.

Panamanian police detained a 22-year-old man after he dropped a bag with a firearm and drugs while attempting to flee. The suspect and evidence have been handed over to the prosecution.
