Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado held a meeting with Panama's President José Raúl Mulino and thanked him for his 'extraordinary' support. 'Starting with the fact that our electoral records (from the past elections in Venezuela) are safeguarded in Panama. This has been a demonstration for Venezuelans of the deep trust between our nations. It is a common past and future,' stated the Nobel Peace Prize laureate during her meeting with Mulino. Machado reiterated that Mulino was one of her first international supporters, and now, with the entire world supporting their cause, one can imagine what this means. The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize laureate arrived in Oslo, Norway, after nearly a year in hiding. During the meeting, the President of Panama and his wife presented Machado with the dress she will wear for the award ceremony. Mulino stated that the prize will be a push that will mark a before and after for Venezuela. Machado also appeared on the balcony of her hotel in Oslo to greet her supporters. She looked visibly tired but was smiling, sang her country's anthem, and interacted with the crowd, despite security measures.
