In Panama, four individuals, including two current officials, a former public servant, and a private individual, have been apprehended. They are being investigated for several crimes, including embezzlement and document forgery.
Specifically, the current treasurer and the legal representative of the Ñurún district were detained. They are linked to the alleged embezzlement of funds from the National Decentralization Authority. The arrests took place in the district where they were serving.
Furthermore, a former official from the Ministry of Public Works was arrested in Pacora, Panama East. While working for the ministry as a driver, he allegedly used his position to forge invoices and steal construction materials, which he then transported in the same truck he drove.
In Los Santos, searches were also conducted to seize evidence. All apprehended individuals and evidence collected from the raids are now in the custody of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office for the judicial process of these three cases.
