Panama's Ministry of Labor and Police conducted an operation identifying six foreign security agents working illegally. Authorities have taken action against the employing companies and reminded of the need to comply with immigration law.

The Ministry of Labor, in coordination with the National Police, detected 6 foreign security agents working without the corresponding work permit. According to the entity, they are 3 Colombian citizens and 3 Nicaraguans, who were providing services to different security companies. The operation was carried out in the areas of 24 de Diciembre, Pacoray, and Felipillo. As part of the procedure, administrative measures were taken against the involved companies, and they were informed that their offices will be visited by inspectors from the Ministry of Labor (Mitradel) in the near future to regularize the employment situation of the workers, avoid future sanctions, and legal complications. The authorities emphasized that hiring foreign labor without the corresponding permits negatively affects the Panamanian workforce, and that employers have the responsibility to verify the migratory status of their collaborators before hiring them, as established by the norm.
