Fourth suspect in police and civilian murder detained

Panamanian authorities have detained a fourth suspect in the double murder case of Captain José Isaza and civilian Ángel David Rodríguez. The suspect turned himself in. Investigation is ongoing.


Fourth suspect in police and civilian murder detained

Authorities announced the apprehension of a fourth suspect in the double homicide of Captain José Isaza and civilian Ángel David Rodríguez, which occurred on December 12. The 23-year-old young man voluntarily presented himself at night at the Homicide and Femicide Prosecutor's Office in the district of Ancón, where he was notified of the order against him. After the notification, he was detained and will be presented before a Guarantees Judge within the next 24 hours. With this detention, authorities continue to close the net on those responsible for the crime that occurred last Friday, December 12, in the community of Caimitillo. In this incident, Captain Isaza and civilian David Rodríguez were killed. According to investigations, both were attacked by hitmen on motorcycles; Ángel David died first while performing community work, and minutes later, Captain Isaza was gunned down when he tried to stop the attackers. From that day, the National Police deployed operations in the area, closing streets and conducting searches in strategic sectors to find those responsible.
