Meanwhile, the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) recommends that when boarding a vessel, life jackets should be used, communication equipment, fire extinguishers, engines in good condition, trained crew, and authorized docks for departure should be used. This weekend, a vessel was rescued by agents of the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN), after breaking the wavefront in front of the city of Colón, due to bad maritime conditions. At the end of this year 2025, at least two shipwrecks have occurred on the Atlantic coast. In both cases, migrants were traveling who departed from docks in the Costa Arriba de Colón, leaving injured and human losses. These migrants, mostly Venezuelans, arrive in the communities of the districts of Portobelo and Santa Isabel, where they coordinate a trip to Colombia and then return to their homes.
