A 23-year-old man, César Enrique López Adames, was killed last night in El Progreso de Nueva Libia, located in the Ernesto Córdoba Campos district. According to witnesses, at around 7:15 p.m., unknown individuals arrived in the area and shot López, hitting him in the left side of the head and the chest. The young man was quickly transported by taxi to the Torrijos Carter health center, where he was stabilized and then urgently transferred to the San Miguel Arcángel Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, about an hour and 15 minutes after the armed attack, López was transferred to the Santo Tomás Hospital. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the on-duty doctors, he died after 9:35 p.m. Following the crime, units from the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) and the Homicide and Femicide Prosecutor's Office initiated investigations to identify and capture those involved in this bloody incident. It was during the initial investigations that it was determined that the victim had been detained during three search warrants carried out by the authorities between 2024 and 2025, but the cause was not disclosed.
