A group of former officials from the San Miguelito Municipality closed the road in front of the Municipal Council of this district in the Paraíso sector for several hours to demand the payment of labor benefits that, according to them, have not yet been fully paid. The protest lasted approximately two hours and caused traffic disruptions in the area, while demonstrators demanded concrete responses from municipal authorities about the pending payments. According to the former employees, some received partial payments of their benefits, but they assure that the amounts delivered do not cover what is legally due to them. However, they state that to date there is no clear schedule guaranteeing when they will receive the pending balance. They also expressed their dissatisfaction with what they consider a breach of promises made during the political campaign of the current municipal authorities, noting that they trusted that the situation would be resolved quickly. The demonstrators warned that if they do not receive concrete responses in the coming days, they could resume protest actions and close roads again in the district to pressure the fulfillment of their labor claims. “Some colleagues have been paid proportionally, but the total has not yet been completed,” said one of those affected during the demonstration. The claimants maintain that they have been promised on several occasions that the rest of the money will be paid, even through lists that would establish payment dates.
