This operation is framed within the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Panama and the United States, which establishes cooperation mechanisms for an orderly, safe, and lawful migration management. The National Migration Service, with this action, reiterates its commitment to strengthening migration control, national security, and respect for fundamental rights, in coordination with the competent authorities. The National Migration Service carried out the deportation and expulsion of 33 Nicaraguan citizens for failing to comply with current migration regulations, as part of the control and verification actions it executes. Several of the citizens presented administrative infractions, including the irregular re-entry into the country after having been previously deported. Additionally, one of the cases corresponded to a person with a criminal record for serious crimes, including femicide and carrying and using a firearm. Of the total number of people returned, 18 were women, in a process that was carried out guaranteeing the established protocols and respect for human rights. The return was made from Marcos A.
