Panama's Goalkeeper Mejía Has No Injury

Luis 'Manotas' Mejía, goalkeeper of the Panama Senior National Football Team, has no injury, according to the results of an ultrasound performed at a clinic in South Africa. The information was released by the team doctor, Engin Mitre, who added that once the player returns to Uruguay, his club, Nacional, will perform a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to get more information. Mejía, who was a starter in the first friendly match against South Africa last Friday, had to leave the game due to muscle discomfort in one of his legs, which raised alarms. Mitre added that they are in communication with the medical staff of Nacional club, and the player has already started therapy, as well as mobility and strengthening exercises with the national team's physical therapists, so now it's just a matter of waiting for the results of the MRI once it is done at his club. Meanwhile, coach Christiansen also referred to Mejía and left-back Eric Davis, who also left the first friendly match due to a blow to one of his shoulders. 'Both are doing quite well, even yesterday Luis did some separate training, of course without any type of load, but he looks much better, his sensations are better and it seems to be less than expected, so let's hope that soon Luis will be at 100%', indicated the coach. 'Regarding Eric (Davis), you already saw him in training, he has been fine and those are good signs', pointed out the coach.
