The Panama national team trained this morning at the Athlone Stadium. All players participated in the session, with the exception of goalkeeper Luis Mejía, who worked separately.
Today, Tuesday, Panama will face South Africa in their second test, aiming for a better performance than in their first match, which ended in a 1-1 draw with the Africans last Friday in Durban.
Today's match will take place at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town, starting at 12:30 PM (Panama time). Players like Adalberto Carrasquilla, Andrés Andrade, and Aníbal Godoy are expected to start, as they did not play in the first match. Another question is whether Botafogo forward Kadir Barría will start as a starter or come on as a substitute.
At a press conference following Monday's training, coach Thomas Christiansen highlighted that the goal for the second match against South Africa is to show an improved version of the team's performance from the first match in Durban. "Tomorrow we have our second match in South Africa, and seeing how the first match went and how the team performed, we have tried to make the most of yesterday's and today's time to work on some tactical aspects and improve for tomorrow's match," the coach detailed.
When asked what he would like to see from his players in the second clash against South Africans, Christiansen responded that he wants to see a "good game" from his side. "The first thing I want to see is a good game from our part."
