The Panama Audiovisual Rights Association (ASDAP) is bringing the renowned Susan Batson Method to the country for the first time with an intensive workshop. This initiative is part of ASDAP's training commission's actions to position Panama as a hub of audiovisual excellence. From March 4th to 8th, at Artemisa, Soho Mall, the workshop will be led by Spanish actress and teacher Arantxa de Juan, considered the leading exponent of this methodology in the Hispanic world and winner of the Best Leading Actress award at the Los Angeles Film Awards for her work in the film "Todos cambiamos". The Susan Batson Method moves away from superficial imitation to prioritize the actor's emotional truth. These tools allow the actor to establish an organic connection with the character from their own essence, achieving three-dimensional and authentic interpretations. Arantxa de Juan, who also directs the "Central de Cine" film school in Madrid and has participated in productions such as "Amar en tiempos revueltos", will bring her international experience to strengthen the capabilities of Panamanian talent. This world-renowned acting technique has been the training pillar for Hollywood figures such as Nicole Kidman, Juliette Binoche, and Oprah Winfrey. The association's board stated that the objective is for national interpreters to have access to the same tools as world-class actors to compete under the most demanding standards. The intensive workshop's schedule at Artemisa, Soho Mall, is as follows: Wednesday, March 4th to Friday, March 6th, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event is exclusively aimed at professional actors seeking to expand their expressive resources and delve into advanced techniques in cinematic and theatrical interpretation. The training delves into structural concepts such as the "Tragic Need", the "Public Need", and the "Personal Trauma".
