After noon, it is expected that the supply of drinking water in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito will normalize. This situation is anticipated following maintenance work at the Chilibre water treatment plant. The plant will resume operations at 90% of its capacity once the maintenance work is completed.
The National Aqueduct and Sewage Institute (Idaan) reported that maintenance work is being carried out at the Chilibre water treatment plant. This work has caused an interruption in the water supply in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito since the early morning.
According to the director of Idaan, the estimated time for the normalization of service is after noon. It is expected that once the work is completed, the Chilibre water treatment plant will operate again at 90% of its capacity, which will allow for the restoration of drinking water supply in the affected districts.
In the words of the director of Idaan: "We hope that by noon the service will be fully normalized."
