Residents of Chanis and Campo Limbergth Concerned About Traffic Congestion

Residents of the Chanis and Campo Limbergth neighborhoods have expressed concern over the vehicle congestion that affects these communities daily, especially during peak hours, a situation that has deteriorated their quality of life. Residents met with circuit deputies, local authorities, and representatives of the Ombudsman's Office to propose alternatives to alleviate the "colossal traffic jam" in the area. During the meeting, they pointed out that the development of the Corredor Sur and the growth of Costa del Este have increased traffic, to the point of making it difficult to enter and exit their homes, with the risk of accidents and even verbal aggression from drivers. Possible solutions divide the neighbors: some propose enabling new entrances to the Corredor Sur, while others believe that this measure could worsen the internal situation of the community. The congestion in the vicinity of the Brader School was also addressed, where the collection of students generates additional bottlenecks. Deputy Javier Sucre indicated that although the Corredor Sur influences the vehicular flow, the main problem is the high volume of people traveling to Costa del Este. He pointed out that seven out of every ten vehicles circulating through these neighborhoods during peak hours have that destination. He added that measures such as yellow lines or prohibiting parking do not solve the problem, as residents have the right to park in front of their homes, although constant traffic limits this practice.
