The incident occurred on February 21, 2024, according to the Municipal Ombudsman of Portobelo. After the complaint was filed, investigations were initiated that led to his apprehension on March 6, when he was required for a crime against the freedom and integrity of the minor. The process is being handled by the local judicial authority, ensuring follow-up on the case.
During the hearing, the Portobelo Ombudsman managed to have the Guarantees Court legalize the apprehension and formulation of charges against the man. A 45-year-old man was apprehended in Portobelo after being accused of aggravated rape, corruption of minors, and violation of domicile, in a case involving a 9-year-old girl.
