In Panama, a man who sprayed chlorine on another person, causing eye damage, was apprehended and brought before judicial authorities in the Accusatory Penal System (SPA). The incident occurred on August 2, 2025, in the community of Buena Ventura, in the Portobelo district, in the Costa Arriba de Colón region, when the accused caused personal injuries to a man. The injury was inflicted when the aggressor sprayed chlorine on the victim's face, which subsequently caused the loss of vision in the right eye and sequelae in the left. After a complaint was filed over what happened, the subject was apprehended on March 13 in the district of Calidonia, in the city of Panama, as he was wanted for the aforementioned crime. This case is being investigated by the Municipal Prosecutor's Office of the Portobelo district, which managed to get a judge to order the application of the precautionary measure of provisional detention for the accused for the crime of aggravated intentional personal injuries. In the hearing held at the Accusatory Penal System (SPA) of Colón, the Prosecutor's Office also managed to get the Guarantees Court to legalize the apprehension and the formulation of charges against this man.
