The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) of Panama has resumed stabilization and road recovery works in sector 2-4 of Puerto Escondido, Colón province.
Recent heavy rains had caused delays in the original schedule, particularly in the asphalt layer installation. However, with the improvement of weather conditions in the area, work resumed on December 9, focusing on the most affected point of the road.
As part of an integral work plan, MOP brigades will also proceed with the deep cleaning of the drainage channels and the sector 2-4 sewer system. Authorities have identified obstructions in these structures as a factor that worsens the clogging of the drainage system, hindering the normal flow of rainwater and obstructing the progress of recovery efforts.
Residents of the sector have expressed their concern about the accumulation of garbage in the area around the worksite. The MOP authorities reiterated their commitment to the community, assuring that the work will continue with the greatest possible speed, as long as weather conditions permit. The objective is to fully restore vehicular circulation and guarantee the safety of all road users in Puerto Escondido.
