From early in the morning, sirens sounded for wildfires, road accidents, and even bee emergencies, making it clear that the festival also brings risks when there is no care. According to the preliminary report, the red shirts carried out 37 interventions for wildfires, many caused by irresponsible burns and the intense heat. Any emergency must be reported immediately to the 103 line, because during Carnival, a lapse in attention can end in tragedy. Each collision meant risk, injuries, and more pressure on emergency teams at the very start of Carnival. This was added to by 12 cases involving bees, attended by firefighters, and 13 pre-hospital care services provided by SAMER, which had to quickly go out to assist people affected during the festivities. The institution made a clear and direct call again: responsibility above all. The Meritorious Fire Corps of the Republic of Panama did not rest on the first day of the Carnival 2026 operation. These situations forced the mobilization of units to prevent the fire from getting out of control and endangering nearby homes and farms. On the roads, the story was just as busy. There were 43 traffic accidents reported at various points in the country, mostly related to speeding, carelessness, and alcohol consumption.
