The Ministry of Health (Minsa) has recommended the immediate dismissal of the person captured on video physically and verbally assaulting a patient. The institution clarifies that this person is not a Minsa official, but a worker directly contracted by the Health Committee; therefore, it is up to said Committee to apply the corresponding sanction, in accordance with article 213 of the Labor Code. Minsa also imposed a written sanction on the official involved in the incident reported by the patient. After a video circulated on social media showing an official from the Emiliano Ponce Health Center, in Calidonia, physically and verbally assaulting a patient on March 2, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) recommended the immediate dismissal of the collaborator. The footage, captured by the victim himself, shows the official responding rudely after the patient went to the medical center to request an appointment. Unhappy with the verbal assault, the official raised his hand and slapped the patient, who had not disrespected him in any way.
