Panama's President, José Raúl Mulino, has appointed Lilibeth Cárdenas Chanis as the new head of Senniaf. Cárdenas brings extensive experience in law and human rights to the role.


New Director Appointed for Senniaf in Panama

The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, appointed lawyer Lilibeth Cárdenas Chanis to head the National Secretariat for Childhood, Adolescence, and Family (Senniaf).

Cárdenas, who served as Vice Minister of Women, has relevant experience for the position, having worked in the Public Ministry as a Summons Instruction Official in Crimes Against the Family Legal Order and Civil Status (domestic violence and child abuse).

The appointee has extensive knowledge of both international and Panamanian laws. She was also a Vice Consul in Miami, United States; and a legal advisor to the Social Security Fund.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Law and Political Science, a master's in International Law and Human Rights, and a diploma in the Accusatory Penal System.
