Lawyer Rivera Accuses Annette Planells of Conspiracy Against Mulino

Lawyer Rosendo Rivera strongly criticized Annette Planells, accusing her of a conspiracy to derail José Raúl Mulino's presidential campaign. He stated that Planells' actions, as a former director of La Prensa, betray her family's legacy, which fled the communist regime in Cuba, and pose a threat to the country's democratic processes.

The lawyer's reaction comes after revelations made by his colleague Karisma Karamañites, who claimed that Annette Planells, former director of Foco and La Prensa, knew about the Electoral Tribunal's decision regarding Martinelli a day before it was communicated to the country, and that the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, María Eugenia López, no longer answered her phone, in addition to her contact with other magistrates of that judicial body. Rivera opines that drafting a legal action like Karamañites', who filed the unconstitutionality plea against Mulino's presidential candidacy, cannot be considered a conspiracy, but immediately after, the veteran lawyer unleashed a barrage of criticism against Planells. For Rivera, it is regrettable that Planells is trampling on the legacy of her family in the midst of the scandal she has been involved in. Lawyer Rosendo Rivera made a strong statement against engineer Annette Planells, accused of a supposed conspiracy against the candidacy of José Raúl Mulino in the past electoral contest. For the lawyer, it is 'important to reflect on those who call themselves representatives of civil society, who self-elect to be our voice,' this after La Prensa Corporation disassociated itself from Planells' actions, who was part of its board of directors and president when the plea against Mulino was filed. He recalled that the patriarch of that family fled Cuba when the island was taken over by communists and lost his freedom. 'Yes, they stopped answering the phones of the drummers,' expressed the lawyer. Conspiracy On the other hand, the lawyer believes that there was indeed a plot to prevent the presidential candidacy of José Raúl Mulino once the Electoral Tribunal communicated the disqualification against Ricardo Martinelli, the main bet of the Realizando Metas and Alianza parties for the 2024 elections. 'It is sad to see how the descendant of such an honorable citizen, who suffered the loss of democracy in his native country, has wanted to assume the right to decide who should and who should not participate in presidential elections,' reproached Rivera. Rivera referred to the Planells family, originally from Cuba. 'Without a doubt, there was a conspiracy; there was the intention to influence the 2024 general elections; there were agreements and betrayals. Let us never again leave our opinion and our right to think in the hands of others. No more Annette Planells!'
