On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Association of Social Workers of Panama (ATSOP) joins the global reflection called by the United Nations under the motto 'Rights. Actions.' This date represents a recognition of the historical struggles of women for equality, dignity, and the full exercise of their human rights, as well as a call to strengthen actions that allow the eradication of structural inequalities that still affect millions of women in our societies. From Social Work, we recognize that many women continue to face social, economic, and cultural gaps that impact their well-being and that of their families. As a representative organization of Social Work in Panama, we will continue to promote actions, reflections, and proposals that contribute to the construction of a more just, inclusive, and solidary society, where all women can live with dignity, equal opportunities, and free from any form of discrimination and violence. In our professional practice, we accompany women who live in situations of poverty, violence, labor exclusion, and overload of care responsibilities, realities that show the need to strengthen public policies, social protection systems, and community actions that promote gender equity and guarantee the effective respect for their rights. In this context, ATSOP reaffirms its union and professional commitment to the promotion of social justice, equity, and the defense of the human rights of women and girls. For all women and girls.
