The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) in Darién province has intensified road maintenance in four communities. By applying hot asphalt and laying select material, the MOP in Darién continues its maintenance plan to ensure safer and more accessible land routes. These interventions aim to guarantee safety and accessibility for local residents and producers. Maintenance in Pinogana and Chepigana In the Pinogana district, MOP teams focused on the Los Pavitos community, where roadway formation work was carried out along a 350-meter stretch. Simultaneously, the work extended to the La Palma corregimiento, which belongs to the Chepigana district. In this sector, in addition to surface formation, cleaning of ditches was carried out along 700 meters, a crucial action for stormwater management and road durability. Patching and Laying in Santa Fe The Santa Fe district was also included in the improvement schedule. For this intervention, 40 cubic meters of hot asphalt were applied, covering a distance of 3.2 kilometers. Additionally, in the Nicanor community, the MOP carried out work to lay select material, form the roadway, and clean ditches. Specifically, the stretch connecting Agua Fría with Palmira received hot surface patching work.
